Summer is here. Almost. After months of harsh, long, dark, cold winter, the people in the Nordics crave the arrival of spring and eventually summer. Although the weather can (at times) be even wintry, with snow and cold, the end of April is considered the end of winter. Period.
So, it’s time to celebrate! Perhaps the most social and extrovert holiday and celebration of all is the Walpurgis Night (evening of April 30th). Oh, and subsequently the next day (May 1st). Especially celebrated in good ol’ neighbours, Sweden and Finland, this feast is what the Nordic people are about, #not.
